El concierto en el Theater Heerlen (Netherlands), con los tres nuevos miembros de la banda: DANNY THOMPSON, GUY EREZ y ALASTAIR GREENE, con un sonido de audiencia muy bueno y destacando la guitarra de Alastair en el tema "I Robot". El concierto de Los Angeles con STEVE MURPHY en la batería y JOHN MONTAGNA al bajo, expectacular sonido y expectacular JOHN MONTAGNA al bajo en "We Play the Game". Por ultimo el concierto de Hannover en el Night of the Proms del 2009, con una interpretación genial de "Silence and I" en memoria de Eric Woolfson.

El "World Liberty Concert" se celebró en 1995, al lado del puente John Frost, en Arnhem, Holanda. Celebraba el 50 aniversario del fin de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y fue retransmitido para casi todo el mundo por televisión. El proyecto fue llevado a cabo por Alan Parsons, quien trabajó más de seis meses como director musical planificando el gigantesco concierto al aire libre que se iba a celebrar marcando la celebración del 50 aniversario de la liberación de Holanda de la ocupación alemana. El programa, preparado y dirigido por Alan, reunió a él y su banda (frente a 100.000 personas) con grandes celebridades como Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, UB40, Wet Wet Wet, Candy Dulfer, el presentador Walter Cronkite, The Metropole Orchestra & Choir, además de Art Garfunkel.

The World Liberty ConcertThe World Liberty Concert was held on 8 May 1995 and commemorated the 50th anniversary of VE-Day, the liberation of Europe. The venue for the concert was Arnhem, the Netherlands, near the John Frost bridge, the bridge immortalized in the film `A Bridge Too Far'. The idea for the WLC was conceived by 25 year old Dutchman Arno Geul, who, at an early stage, decided Alan Parsons was the perfect Musical Director for the show. Apart from performances of the Alan Parsons Band (with Chris Thompson and Mick Mullins on vocals), Candy Dulfer (sax), Art Garfunkel, UB40 and many others (including an 80 piece orchestra and a local choir), the show consists of military parades, airshows and a narration by Walter Cronkite, the legendary war correspondent and later news anchorman. The Alan Parsons Band performed a number of well-known songs (Sirius/Breakaway, Old and Wise, The Gold Bug, Sirius/Eye in the Sky) plus some new material commissioned for the show (among which White Dawn) and also accompanied Dulfer, Joe Cocker and Art Garfunkel on their segments. The show was televised live in 40 countries, was attended by approximately 100.000 people and is about two hours long.

Grabación de audiencia de baja calidad, aun así es una grabación muy interesante ya que en este concierto, Alan Parsons da una prioridad muy importante a los temas de su etapa sin el "Project", sobre todo de su ultimo álbum hasta esa fecha "On Air" con un total de seis temas, siete si incluimos "Turn It Up" de su anterior trabajo en solitario y ocho si metemos "Money Talks" que es un bonus tracks de su álbum "Live". También destacar las aportaciones vocales de Neil Lockwood y Peter Beckett.

Excelente bootleg (también llamado "The Raven") grabado en directo por radio FM . En el encontramos la mejor interpretación del tema "A Dream Without A Dream / The Raven", que hay en directo hasta la fecha, quizás por ponerle un pero, sobran las explicaciones de la DJ en algunos momentos del disco, pero en lineas generales, creo que es una actuación alucinante del que podríamos decir unos de los pocos bootlegs que para mi, tienen el sello de The Alan Parsons Project, ya que están todos (Alan Parsons, Felix Krish, Stuart Elliott, Andrew Powell, Richard Cottle, Ian Bairnson, Peter Beckett y Chris Thompson) con la única excepción de Eric Woolfson . Subimos este trabajo con los tipos de carátulas con las que se conoce este bootleg (aunque "Through time and space" es el mismo concierto no lo consideramos como el mismo bootleg ya que este ultimo viene con algunos temas extras) . Este post va dedicado al mejor disco de Alan Parsons Project, según las votaciones en este blog. Daremos todos los datos que estén en nuestro conocimiento acerca de este trabajo y tendremos un bootleg preparado con un mini concierto de este disco.

"Tales of Mystery and Imagination" es el disco debut de "Alan Parsons Project". El concepto del álbum gira en torno de la obra de Edgar Allan Poe a través de 7 temas, dos de ellos instrumentales "A Dream Within A Dream" y "The Fall of the House of Usher".

Su idea original, era hacer un álbum en el que Parsons y Woolfson aportarían la parte instrumental. Mientras que una serie de conocidos cantantes invitados, aportaban la parte vocal. La presentación inaugural de este trabajo en 1976, causó sensación al ser presentado en el Planetario del Observatorio del Parque Griffith, en Inglaterra, acompañado de un show de iluminación láser.

Los vocalistas invitados para este fueron Arthur Brown, John Miles y Terry Sylvester. Lo que hace al disco único es que, a diferencia de los discos posteriores, aún con toda la tecnología empleada y con el concepto de progreso que caracteriza a "Alan Parsons Project", el disco suena maravillosamente, antiguo y totalmente alejado del modernismo. La portada es obra de "Hipgnosis".

Desde el momento de su lanzamiento inicial, "Tales of Mystery and Imagination " ha sido reeditado muchas veces con portadas diferentes en diferentes formatos de vinilo y casete. Pero incluso hasta mediados de los ochenta este registro no se había puesto en CD. Cuando llegó el momento, Alan tomó la decision de volver a entrar en el estudio, y remasterizar el álbum.
El cambio mas significativo del trabajo original al remasterizado, es la narración de Orson Welles que aparece solamente en el remix de 1987, en el principio de "A Dream Within a Dream" y "Prelude".

Excelente bootleg grabado en su mayor parte en Madrid, Los Angeles y Hannover. Muy interesantes los cortes de "The Dark Side of The Moon" de "Pink Floyd", en los cuales, Alan Parsons ejerce de ingeniero de sonido en tiempo real, para la banda tributo a "Pink Floyd""Any Colour You Like". En este bootleg se da un repaso principalmente a la discografia de Alan Parsons Project, aunque a nivel personal eche en falta algún tema de "Vulture Culture" y de su ultimo álbum "Gaudi", también y en mi humilde opinión esta gira de Alan Parsons carece de temas post-APP, ya que solo incluye como mucho tres temas en directo de su ultimo álbum "A Valid Path", "More Lost Without You", "We Play The Game" y "Return to Tunguska", tres temas que tuve el placer de escuchar en directo en Granada. No obstante, a medida que pasa el tiempo, es decir, desde el 2004 que empieza el tour asta hoy, Alan parsons va introduciendo cada vez mas canciones de APP (excepto "Silence and I" que la incluye para rendir un pequeño homenaje, al que fuera coofundador de APP Eric Woolfson) descuidando a nuestro parecer su carrera sin el Project, ya lo pudimos comprobar en directo en el 2008 en Barcelona, en cuyo concierto no toco ninguna canción de su etapa en solitario.
