As we approach the 40th anniversary of Pilot's debut album, David Paton, Ian Bairnson, and Stuart Tosh have reunited as Pilot. As a first project out of the gate, it is only fitting that David and Ian would turn to The Alan Parsons Project. While Stuart played on the first two Project albums and Billy Lyall the first, it was David and Ian, along with drummer Stuart Elliott from Cockney Rebel, who would become the band behind the Project for years to come. David brought his distinctive bass playing and vocals and Ian his melodic guitar licks and imaginative, smooth solos to the Project. These contributions, when coupled with the rich harmonies of Chris Rainbow, lush arrangements of Andrew Powell, skillful songwriting of Eric Woolfson, and superb production of Alan Parsons created the unique Project sound that fans all over the world would come to love.


With A Pilot Project, David and Ian pay homage to Eric Woolfson's legacy. We hope Project and Pilot fans enjoy the opportunity to hear Eric's classic tunes interpreted and played in a new way by the band behind the Project. Some things should sound familiar with David singing such classic Paton sung tracks as What Goes Up, Children of the Moon, and Let's Talk about Me and Ian adding his insperational guitar sound throughout. But we hope you also enjoy a few twists from David's production and interpretation of classic tunes originally sung by Eric, Lenny Zakatek, Colin Blunstone, and others!

Tales of Mystery and Imagination. El concepto del álbum gira en torno a la obra de Edgar Allan Poe a través de siete cortes.
La idea original de Alan Parsons era hacer un álbum en el que él y Eric Woolfson aportarían la parte instrumental, mientras que una serie de conocidos cantantes invitados aportaban la parte vocal. La presentación inaugural de este trabajo en 1976 causó sensación, al ser presentado en el Planetario del Observatorio del Parque Griffith, en Inglaterra, acompañado de un show de iluminación láser.
Los vocalistas invitados para este LP fueron Arthur Brown, John Miles y Terry Sylvester.

Alan Parsons actuará en la Isla el próximo 22 de abril

Ya están a la venta las entradas para el concierto que Alan Parsons, maestro del rock sinfónico, ofrecerá el 22 de abril en las Pirámides de Arona, en el Sur de Tenerife. Las entradas se pueden adquirir, desde 45 euros más gastos de gestión, en la plataforma ticketbell.com. El mítico compositor y productor es el segundo nombre confirmado por Legends Live, un nuevo proyecto que en los próximos meses traerá a la Isla una serie de siete conciertos exclusivos protagonizados por legendarios del pop-rock de los años 70, 80 y 90. Abrirán el programa los ingleses UB40, el 18 de marzo también en las Pirámides de Arona.

Será la tercera visita de Alan Parsons, de 66 años, a Tenerife. En mayo de 2004 actuó en Santa Cruz, llenando por completo el Auditorio. Dos años después vino a Puerto de la Cruz y actuó en la plaza de Europa. Como entonces, esta vez también le acompañará su solvente banda, formada por siete músicos. Interpretará temas de su último álbum y hará un repaso exhaustivo por todos sus grandes éxitos, como Don’t answer me, Eye In The Sky o Time. Con P. J. Olsson interpretando las partes vocales de los temas, la calidad del concierto está más que garantizada.
